CEBIT: Christ-Elektronik supports TEO with consumption of current measurement in a 19" IP-outlet

Christ-Elektronik GmbH (www.christ-elektronik.de ), known as an experienced developer and
manufacturer of energy meters, presents in the frame of TEO-solutions (www.teo-systems.de),
the company Christmann, their newest product:  The CLM5-IP enables the monitoring an control
of up to five components in server cabinet locally via the network.  Monitoring of power and current
consumption, the voltage and temperature; additial time controlled switching or switching using
freely defined threshholds enables a simplified optimisation of costs and resources in the network.
The presented preserial model at the CeBIT visualizes the power consumption of five connected systems.
The corresponding evaluation and control software delivers significant data and a graphical presentation
of power consumption of the individual systems.
At the CeBIT booth from Christmann (Hall 6, A38/1), the IP-multiple socket outlet was presented live, in order
to make visible how energy efficienct the individual TEO-Sytems are (e.g. TEO-Rack with only max. 50 Watt power
consumption).  For the future, a close cooperation between company Christ and Christmann is planned in the
further development.  In the course of which an open-source-browser variant of control software should be
developed.  With the multi-faceted possibilities offered with the CLM5-IP, to define threshholds and link switching
operations, which will in turn very likely result in further projects, that can be coordinated under www.openteo.org.

Capacity growth is the basis for continuous growth

A production hall with over 1000 qm for the production of truck wash units was built on the
grounds of Christ-Elektronik GmbH in the Oberbrühlstraße.  Furthermore, a 3-level building
with 1650 m2 office surface and 1900 m2 production surface, as extension for the Christ-Elektronik GmbH,
was built on the grounds and moved into in December.  4.5 Mio. EURO was invested in the construction for
new administration and production halls on the grounds in Memmingen.  The new production and
office surfaces were necessary in light of Christ-Elektronik GmbH having continuously grown in the last years,
with their innovative prodcuts and new clientele.  With over 550 customers in the segments service
devices, automat technique and measuring devices, around 50% of the total profits was generated.
This includes renowned companies such as ThyssenKrupp Aufzugswere, the road construction
machine manufacturer Hamm and the metal goods factory.  The Otto Christ AG is today throughout Europe
a leading manufacturer of vehicle wash systems.  A total of ca. 1100 employees work fo rthe entire Christ
Group:  This includes the Otto Christ AG, Christ-Elektronik GmbH, SVG Superwash, Auto Jet Waschstraßen GmbH
and Christ Packing Systems. The joint goal at Christ is to offer the customer high-quality products and excellent service with highest demands on quality and innovation.  With continuous investments, extended productions and administration sufaces
as well as personnel hirings, the Christ Group intends on increasing market shares for the years to come.

Christ-Elektronik GmbH extends its product portfolio

Until now, development and production by Christ-Elektronik GmbH was primarily reduced to electronic components for vehicle, truck and special vehicle wash units for the Christ AG, as well as the segments touch-panel and measuring devices.  Since the end of 2006, a new branch has been created, the automat segment.  term "automat" refers to a widely diversified field and is used for the
most various usage areas.  At Christ-Elektronik GmbH now brought into connection with automats for the issuance of luggage trolleys on airports and train stations, as well as money change and currency change automats.

After having successfully gained experience in 2003 with parking ticket automats, in 2004 Company Wanzl (worlds largest manufacturer of shopping carts, transport carts and luggage carts) l inquired on automats for
releasing luggage carriers on airports and train stations.  The time plan was very narrow, as the first prototype had to be ready by
the end of November 2005.  All available resources were used in order to take charge of the project.  The hardware was built based
upon the foundation of the xisting SmallBasic-Platform from the Touch-Panel-Segment, with which the entire automat is serviced,
configured, updated and controlled.  Following connection of the various internal components, the up to 4 connectable rails, in which the luggage trolleys stand, are adapted.  The atuomat can be programmed with or without deposit return, depending upon the customer wish can be equipped with a money note reader for a or even more currencies, a credit card reader, receipt printer, alarm system and LAN-connection and has serially a 5,4 zoll display.

Following diverse tests and inspections, at the end of May 2006, the approval from the side of Company Wanzl was obtained and a new prototype was installed, which was then brought to series-production readiness.  Shortly thereafter, both first orders for over 14 automats for the Airport Milwaukee in the USA and 18 pieces for the Train Stations Tesch and Zermatt in Switzerland were received.  In Tesch, vacationers can borrow luggage carriers at the park house on the train station and their skis and luggage can be packed on these carriers, can then enter the trolley in the rack railway and once having arrived in Zermatt, can then return the luggage carriers.  Further projects such as Catania in Sicily, Palms Prings in the USA, Warsaw in Poland or currently for the Airport in Mexico City were/will be equipped with these automats.  Through some smaller modifications, the automat can be retrofitted so that it can also be implemented as a currency changer.  For instance right now 3 of these devices are isntalled at the Airport in Miland, which receive money notes from the USA, Japan, Sweden and Denmark and give the respective currency amount in Euro coins out again.  As a completely new and independent product is a small money changer automat, on which Euro notes can be changed into coins.  This could be used in connection e.g. with a DIY-wash bay or even for roll-over wash units.

The early bird gets the worm...

Opportune capacity expansion is the basis for continuous growth.  The board of directors made further investments in over 4,5 million Euro for the expansion of the Christ company group.  Christ-Elektronik GmbH extended their production grounds by approx. 2.000 m² and their office area by around 1.000 m². This is twice the amount of the built production site in Memmingen that was build in 2002.  High growth rates in the production area service and measuring devices and the employment of new production units allowed for the previous space to become too small.  The ever growing share on developmental services have caused offices and meeting rooms to become too small already for a longer period of time.  The new office buildings, similar to the architecture of the existing elektronik administration, will become available to sales, construction and planning employees from Factory II (Truck Wash Units).  With our investments, we are equipped for the growing demands in the years to come.

Full energy and cost control

The energy and power measuring devices from the CLM 1000 series from Christ Elektronik GmbH link precise measuring technique with easy operation.  The robust casing and the practical connecting cables with adapter makes comfortable working even on hard to reach areas possible.  The wide measuring area (0,5 to 4224 Watt) enables tracing of smallest stand-by leakages just as the measuring of large output power.  The scale input enables direct reading of costs of the measured consumption.  By means of three clear overlaid keypads and the illuminated, full-graphic display, intuitive operation with very good readability is guaranteed.  Long-term measurements up to 60 days and data exchange over USB make this device a professional partner in the industrial segment.

The clever way to save electricity!

An ever increasing amount of electro-devices in households causes power consumption to continuously increase.  Especially idle running losses such as pseudo-off and stand-by, as well as older devices - are all causes for power waste.  These also pollute our environment and in turn are further cause for a considerable part of the Co2 emissions.  With the held of new, professional power measuring devices CLM 1000, the Memmingen company Christ Elektronik, is capable of ascertainig the power consumption of single devices in a household fast and easy.  It measures, contrary to cheap devices, even the smallest consumer starting at 0,5 watt performance.  Many devices in households even burn energy, when they appear to be turned off.  The costs for these unnecessary power consumers can amount up to 100 and more yearly.  The CLM 1000 is the perfect tool in tracking down such power thiefs.  With this practial adapter, power consumers can be directly connected and measured.  The consumption amount and the incoming costs can be directly read on the large display.  The easy handling makes it even possible for laymen to work with this measuring device.  Through longterm measurements make it possible for example to ascertain the power consumption of old refrigerators and freezers.  Once having compared the measuring results with the specifications of modern devices, one can easily decide, whether a new device which is power-saving would make more sense.  The determined idle running leakages can be sinked using simple measurements such as switchable multiple socket outlets.  Your power consumption can be reduced in this way and you preserve the environment and even more importantly your wallet!  Demonstrations of this measuring device, with the possiblity of purchasing the device are offered by Christ-Elektronik directly on the factory grounds from Monday to Friday.  For convinced power savers, is free for direct delivery and per surname.

Attention! Video monitoring on the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2006

The new service device series ´Touch-it Comfort+´ from Christ-Elektronik GmbH combines comfortable unit servicing with video monitoring.  Via 4 video inputs, pictures can be directly integrated from cameras or video signals from external device (e.g. DVD-player) in the visualisation.  This enables a production-/object monitoring from control element - without direct intervisibility to object.  Furthermore, video sequences for error correction, maintenance or advertisements can be shown.  Through the usage of  video busbars, multiple video-signals can be fed-in complex object monitorings.  The control of busbars and dome-camers can succeed via the serial interfaces or integrated E/A's.  LAN (10/100 MBit Ethernet) and USB (2 x USB Host and 1 x Client) make the service devices communicative partners in existing networks.  On the CPU-Platform, displays from 5,7 to 15 zoll can be connected  with a definition of up to ........ 8 (XVGA).
